OPTEC® 6500
Contrast Sensitivity View-in Tester

We are pleased to announce that VSRC will now be offering the Optec® 6500 in place of the CST 1800 digital tester. Using FACT
chart contrast sensitivity testing capability, the Optec® 6500 has the same uniform FDA study daytime and nightime standardized light levels as the CST 1800 .

The Optec® 6500 includes the EyeView® Functional Vision Analysis software.
With this exciting new technology, clinicians are now able to:

  • Enter patient responses directly into the system while testing and data is automatically checked for consistency.
  • Receive instant FACT™ and ETDRS test scoring.
  • Generate report summaries and contrast sensitivity function graphs.
  • Produce EyeView® pictures, demonstrating how a street scene, landscape, and newsprint appears to your patient based on their contrast sensitivity scores.

Highlights of the Optec® 6500 include:

  • Microprocessor-controlled and continually calibrated light levels
  • FACT sine-wave contrast sensitivity slide package
  • Binocular glare testing
  • Target illumination with 3.0 cd/m² for night or 85 cd/m² for day
  • Compliance with the ANSI standard Z80.21-1992 (R1998)
